This video is Elijah’s first attempt at “playing free” with another musician – and I was more than happy to play the role of “other musician”. Let’s hope that this is the first of many for him.
As one of Mr. Lewis’ students, this service (producing student videos) is part of what you are paying for in your lesson fee. The only extra charge is for editing time spent outside of your lesson time. Keep this in mind if you ever have a video project you’d like to do.
We want to congratulate Elijah M. once again. This time he secured second chair in the Texas All-State Jazz Ensemble 1.
We want to congratulate Elijah M. for being invited to perform at the Texas Jazz Festival in Corpus Christi. He performed in a jazz combo with his brother, Clifford, playing the tenor sax.
Elijah has been busy over the past few months. He won first chair in his region’s All-Region Jazz Ensemble. He was recently selected to the 2015 National Association for Music Education All-National Honor Jazz Ensemble. And these things come after a summer of three different high profile jazz camps for young jazz musicians.
We are very happy with Elijah’s progress as a trumpet player, as a jazz musician, and more importantly, as a young man.
Congratulations Elijah. Keep up the good work.
