Richard Brown Big Band

Richard offers a large variety of bands and instrumentations. Big band music is only part of what he does professionally on a regular basis. Richard Brown hires Houston’s top big band musicians and I (Eddie Lewis) have had the honor of playing on a number of these.

Two interesting highlights worth mentioning from my experience with the Richard Brown big band were when we backed the Manhattan Transfer at a concert in Lufkin and backed Diane Schuur at a private party. I’m sure the band has done a lot more exciting performances than just those, but I was privileged to be a part of those two. If I’m not mistaken, I think I played lead with the band on the Manhattan Transfer concert.

We will add more information about the Richard Brown Orchestra as we hear from more people about this band. Maybe I can even get Richard to say a few words.
