Score Videos

Eddie Lewis has written hundreds of original compositions. One of the things we are doing to help you purview these compositions is to create what are called “Score Videos” for each composition. These videos give you an opportunity to look at all the parts and see how complicated the ensemble work will be.

We don’t mind people just enjoying the videos. We suspect that most of the views of these videos are from people who have an interest in score videos. They enjoy seeing the nuts and bolts of the compositions. But the original intent of posting these videos is to give prospective customers an opportunity to look at the music before they purchase it.

That said, if you are interested in purchasing any of these compositions, please visit the sheet music area of the website where you can read more information about each of the compositions and select from a variety of online stores to buy from. Click the following button to go to that page:

The videos are listed here in order of instrumentation first.

Eddie’s sheet music is available at his own online store, Tiger Music, as well as Sheet Music Plus, J. W. Pepper, PayHip, and Sheet Music Direct.

How to Use Score Videos

Traditionally, the purpose of score videos is to give you a look into the inner workings of the composition. If you can see the music notation, maybe you can better understand why it sounds the way it does. Studying scores is a very important part of becoming a composer and/or a conductor.

If there is a part of the music that stands out to you, back up to listen and look again. See if you can see a pattern behind why it sounds the way it does. Consider musical aspects such as rhythmic context, counterpoint, chord voicings, melodic contour, and form. Play that section repeatedly until you have an idea of why that section stands out to you.
