Navigating Adversity – Trumpet Improvisation 107
So, I was just finishing up recording my third installment of the Jazz Swing Tutorial. If you haven’t seen those videos yet, they involve me recording the exercises ten times each. I didn’t look how long number three was, but the previous two videos were about 45 minutes each. The third video felt like it was equally long. Afterwards I figured, “Hey, the equipment is setup. Why not do a quick improvisation?”
And here it is!
I hope you enjoy it. I typically only name the trumpet improvisations after they are recorded. In fact, often they are only named after the video is edited, as was the case with this one. The title I was going for here was supposed to be optimistic, but acknowledging hardship. The word navigating is supposed to give the impression that the “adversity” is not having an impact.
