Eddie Lewis has been composing original music since he was in high school, in the late 70’s, early 80’s. He has written hundreds of original compositions in a great variety of styles for brass and jazz instrumentations. The following Youtube playlist is offered as an example of some of his best work from the past twenty years.
Variety of Writing Styles
When you listen to the playlist below, you will notice that Mr. Lewis composes at various levels of “control”. He is just as comfortable composing traditional chamber music, where most of the nuances in the music are specifically notated, as he is writing more “free” compositions (see Tigers Eye in the play list) where the individual musicians can more easily express themselves.
